Reflecting on the last couple of years of being a dietetics student and pretending that someone asked me to pick one message to pass on I would automatically default to calcium. Despite the fact that I obviously view calcium as one of the most important nutrition messages, for some strange reason, I have not written anything about it! My One & Only Restaurant Review

Taking Local to the Next Level

I buy most of my produce from Kins Farm Market because I believe they represent the next best thing to buying produce straight from a local farmer. Plus their story is inspirational! Twenty-two years ago when the Leung family moved to Vancouver they opened an 8-foot produce stand on Granville Island and now they are running a produce empire with 26 stores. But lately I’ve been getting frustrated with Kins because their lack of local produce has become apparent. So, I took local to the next level last weekend by taking a drive to Emma-Lea Farms.

A Plug for the DC Conference

This year I had the privilege of attending the Dietitians of Canada National Conference in Toronto. I say privilege because I personally know dietitians who have not had the opportunity to attend and yet here I was, a third year dietetics student, getting to experience such a great event.
